Baker to Las Vegas
The Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay is the largest and most unique law enforcement race in the world. It is a 120-mile, 20 stage, foot race beginning at Baker, California and finishing at Las Vegas, Nevada. All law enforcement agencies are invited to participate and every year there are hundreds of teams participating from agencies around the world. This race began in 1985 with 19 teams as a race for Police Officers to improve their physical fitness. In 2003 the Nineteenth Annual Challenge Cup Relay accommodated 199 teams. This event is the “Super Bowl,” of Law Enforcement and the Champions are the best the police world has to offer. Every year the LAPD Centurions kick off the Baker to Vegas event with the Baker to Vegas Bowl, a game traditionally held between the Centurions and the Southern California Blue Knights.
